Ashkan Cheheltan

Research Fellow

Ashkan Cheheltan is an architect and spatial researcher. He earned his Master’s degree at the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK) and has been collaborating with Forensic Architecture and Forensis since 2021. His research has focused on investigating crimes connected to Germany’s colonial history, police violence, and racist terror attacks in Germany and beyond.

Ashkan is a visiting researcher with the New Illegalisms Study Group at the Fluminense Federal University (GENI/UFF), where he examines state, corporate, and environmental violence. He is contributing to the development of a Forensic Architecture unit at the NGO Redes de Maré, in Rio de Janeiro, training local researchers in tools and methodologies for investigating police violence in Rio’s favelas.
