empoderaLIVE: Art and Open Data Against Human Rights Violations

Franc Camps-Febrer (FA) will be speaking at empoderaLIVE about the power of art and open data to combat human rights violations

This lecture is part of empoderaLIVE 2017, a two-day event organised by Cybervoluntarios showcasing new ideas on the topic of “Making by Hacking: Citizens of change creating the future now”. To be held in Málaga, Spain, the people and organisations participating in empoderaLIVE will demonstrate how civic technology is changing the world by triggering social participation and transformation and how social challenges can be overcome with open and collaborative digital solutions.
Franc Camps-Febrer is the Software Development Lead at Forensic Architecture, where he works to create and design tools and experiences to help with evidence visualisation, analysis, and documentation.

His experience comes from scientific research on physics, neuroscience and design. He worked on cognitive properties of creative thinking emergency and aesthetic perception research at City University of New York (CUNY) and New York University (NYU). After years of scientific research, he worked on software development for Knewton, a company that uses artificial intelligence to humanise and improve online learning. Finally, he moved to London where he combines his work on human rights at Forensic Architecture with education on experience design and information at the Royal College of Art.
