Forensic Architecture began in collaboration with the international Yazidi NGO, Yazda, to train researchers in digital land surveying, mapping and documentation techniques in order to support investigations into the genocide. Part of the work was the digital reconstruction of destroyed historical temples of the Yazidis in Iraq. This project and the resulting documentation were artistically designed and processed. Videos, 3D prints, and simulations as well as objects from the work on site showed how history and events can be researched and reconstructed with the help of digital technology.
