Forensic Architecture’s project The Killing of Zak Kostopoulos will be shown alongside three other artistic responses to the assassination of queer activist Zak Kostopoulos/ZackieOh! in September 2018 in downtown Athens. A brutal hate crime by civilians and police in broad daylight, it was followed by discriminatory media coverage, and an attempted government cover-up.
Breathing Exercises forges aesthetic and social alliances that uncover and critically examine systemic violence. The artistic and investigative positions presented in the exhibition offer structured, multi-layered depictions of violence and loss.
