Critical Zones is a thought exhibition curated by Peter Weibel and Bruno Latour, along with Martin Guinard, and Bettina Korintenberg. It engages with a region on the surface of the earth, a few kilometres thick, that has been transformed by life over many years. The digital exhibition is dedicated to the critical situation of this fragile membrane of life and it is linked to a physical exhibition at ZKM|Karlsruhe, which will open in the course of Summer 2020.
We contributed to the Critical Zones exhibition with a new project on the toxic clouds that are mobilised by state and corporate powers such as tear gas, herbicide and chlorine bombs. The project builds on a set of our previous investigations. We called this project Cloud Studies.
On the opening of this exhibition on 22 May, there was a live-streamed festival, at which FA’s director, Eyal Weizman, spoke in a panel discussion which was recorded and can be viewed here.
