Caroline Sturdy Colls teaches in forensic archaeology, techniques in the identification of human remains and crime scene investigation, and is Research Lead of the Centre of Archaeology at Staffordshire University. She specialises in Holocaust studies, and her research focuses on the application of interdisciplinary approaches to the investigation of Holocaust landscapes – work which included the first archaeological surveys of the former extermination camp at Treblinka.
Sturdy Colls sits on the NWO Holocaust Archaeology Group, is a consultant for the Polish-German Reconciliation Foundation and, as a practising forensic archaeologist, undertakes consultancy for UK police forces.
