Miriam is a researcher, writer, and translator. In 2023, she worked as Operations Coordinator at Forensis.
She holds a PhD in German Studies from Brown University. Her thesis on German imperialism investigates how violence is housed in language. Engaging textualities endemic to specific colonial encounters, she looks at how literary forms intervene into social and political formations of oppression. While at Brown she earned an adjunctive certificate in Collaborative Humanities.
Prior to Forensis, Miriam has been involved in collective self-organizing and antiracist cultural labor when working with Refugee Protest Camp Vienna, Death in Custody Campaign, ARI, Wiese (Wie es ist) and Versatorium. In 2022 she was one of the project coordinators for the Al Khatib Glossary.
