#WHATIF

17 Mar 2018 - 20 May 2018

Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, Denmark

The exhibition #WHATIF opens as part of Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival CPH:DOX, which transforms Kunsthal Charlottenborg into an international festival palace with films, talks, debates, performances, virtual reality, concerts and much more.

Inspired by the impact that radical social and political experiments have had in the contemporary world, the exhibition #whatif investigates a number of projects that imagine new ways to live on an ever more fragile planet.Among many contradictory and rapidly eclipsed modes of social media, hashtags (#BlackLivesMatter, #metoo, #Jan25, #Resist) have become a contested means to signal political unity on social media, even while their rapid diffusion sometimes makes contradictions within these solidarities temporarily invisible. The title #whatif is used to open up a reflection on today’s social and political development.

Forensic Architecture will be showing our work Ground Truth as part of this exhibition. The other participating artists are Larry Achiampong, Lara Baladi, CATPC, Renzo Martens, Naeem Mohaiemen, Marcus Lindeen, Tomás Saraceno. The exhibition is curated by Irene Campolmi.
