Screening: „Say their names – Ein kollektives Erinnern“

For Ferhat Unvar, Hamza Kurtović, Said Nesar Hashemi, Vili-Viorel Păun, Mercedes Kierpacz, Kaloyan Velkov, Fatih Saraçoğlu, Sedat Gürbüz and Gökhan Gültekin

Forensic Architecture will present two investigations around the racist attack in Hanau, on the third anniversary of the same. Hosted by the Brecht Festival, the memorial is intended as a gathering and a commemoration of the victims of the terrorist attack.

The essayist Asal Dardan will give a speech that asks about the social conditions behind this and other attacks. Forensic Architecture’s films reconstruct the day of violence in Hanau. In a lecture-performance, the author Senthuran Varatharajah will the story of the victims: “Tell me where your arms are and when”. A short film by Cana Bilir-Meier will draw connections to other right-wing terrorist attacks.

The event will end in a discussion between all those present, moderated by Asal Dardan.
