Cloud Studies at UTS Gallery

22 Sep 2020 - 13 Nov 2020

UTS Gallery, Sydney

UTS Gallery will open to the public on 22 September with Cloud Studies, the first solo exhibition by Forensic Architecture in Australia.

In a year marked by environmental catastrophe, a global pandemic, political protest and social change, Cloud Studies articulates a framework to consider the connectedness of global atmospheres, the porousness of state borders and what Achille Mbembe terms “the universal right to breathe”.

The presentation of Cloud Studies at UTS Gallery will be extended by newly commissioned writing exploring the thematics of Cloud Studies from a local context, with contributions by Joel Spring, Saba Bebawi, Jason De Santolo, Tom Melick, Nikki Lam, Thalia Anthony and Micaela Sahhar. Collected in a single publication, these texts will formally extend the notion of the cloud atlas, and form part of the access program for the exhibition.
